Editorial Policy

How our water heater guides are written, checked, dated and corrected.

Document: Editorial policy for the guides, service pages and glossary on waterheaterrepairnewarkde.us. Last reviewed November 8, 2026.

Who writes our content

Pages on this site are written by Newark Heater Pros Editorial, the content team for Newark Heater Pros, a water heater repair and replacement business serving Newark, Delaware and nearby New Castle County towns. We write for homeowners, not for plumbers, so we keep sentences short and explain each technical term the first time it appears. Hard words also link to our water heater glossary.

We do not list a named expert reviewer on our articles yet. When a credentialed person reviews a page, we will add their name and the date of their review to that page. We will not invent reviewers, credentials or honors.

How we research a page

  1. We start with a real question. Topics come from questions homeowners search for and ask us on the phone, such as why a tank leaks or what a heat pump water heater is.
  2. We read the pages that already rank. We note what they cover and what they miss, so our guide answers more of the question.
  3. We use primary sources. Facts come from sources such as the U.S. Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation, the Delaware Department of Insurance, Energize Delaware, Delmarva Power, Delaware Electric Cooperative and local city and county offices.
  4. We open every source. A search snippet is not a source. We open the page and check the exact rule, number or date before we use it.
  5. We list our sources. Every service page and every blog post ends with a list of the sources we used, with links.

Fact-checking and accuracy rules

  • Each figure, deadline or rebate amount is checked against the source it came from, and the source is named in the text when it matters ("ENERGY STAR says…", "Delaware Electric Cooperative lists…").
  • A company source is used only for a single figure, and we name the company in the sentence.
  • Rebates, codes and laws change. We note effective dates and tell readers to confirm current terms with the program or office.
  • Health, safety and insurance topics include a plain note that the page is general information, not professional, legal or insurance advice.

What we do not do

  • We do not publish fake reviews, testimonials, ratings or star scores.
  • We do not invent prices. When we show a cost range, we name where it came from, and we tell readers to get a written estimate.
  • We do not claim licenses, certifications or honors we cannot show.
  • We do not copy other sites' text.
  • We do not hide that this site belongs to a business that sells water heater repair and replacement. Our service pages are written to win your call, and our guides link to them. That relationship is the same on every page.

Dates and the review cycle

Every blog post shows a Published date and an Updated date. Every service page shows a Last reviewed date. We review service pages and rebate content at least every six months, and sooner when a law, code or rebate program changes. Posts are reviewed at least once a year.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, please tell us. Call (302) 732-0874 and say you are reporting a website error. Tell us the page and what looks wrong. We check the source, fix confirmed errors and update the page's date. If a correction changes advice in a meaningful way, we note it on the page.
